Frequently Asked Questions
What are the fees per session?
The fee for a session is between £80-£100 (I reserve a few spaces at a lower fee for students/trainees and those who are on lower incomes).
For therapy sessions funded by private health insurance, please contact your insurer before hand to arrange authorisation of your sessions. I am a recognised practitioner with Aviva, Vitality Health and AXA-PPP.
A full fee of £80 will be charged when a client misses or cancels a session without giving 24 hours notice or more. You can cancel your session by calling or sending a text message to 07414 132700.
The fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances such as a serious illness or an emergency. It may also be waived if the client can reschedule their appointment within the same week, based on room availability. This may incur an extra charge to cover the new room booking.
What happens in the initial consultation?
We will discuss your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. This usually involves assessing your needs and what you would like to achieve in therapy. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me questions you may have. You are under no obligation to commit to working with me after the first meeting if you feel that I am not right psychologist for you.
How many sessions do I need?
Therapy usually takes place once a week but no set number of sessions is required. It depends on your personal needs and circumstances and what you want out of therapy. This can be discussed and negotiated in the initial session and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
